Since The CW announced last month that they would not be picking up ‘Veronica Mars’ next season, many fans have refused to give up hope that the network would change their mind before the official deadline (June 15th). While many have declared that they are boycotting the network for having dropped one of their best shows, others are taking a page out of the “How to Be an Obsessive ‘Jericho’ Fan” book by sending The CW network Mars Bars.
After fans of ‘Jericho’ flooded the network with cans of nuts when they learned of the show’s cancellation, CBS has considered giving the series at least a few more episodes. Now ‘Veronica Mars’ fans are trying their best to convince Dawn Ostroff and The CW to renew the show for another season by sending Mars Bars to the network.
UPDATED: 6/8/2007:
When the folks over at Ain’t It Cool News came up with the idea to send Mars Bars to the CW, they decided to use The Indian Food Store’s amazon.com store to host this virtual chocolate march. Since yesterday fans have placed thousands of orders in an effort to get The CW to take them seriously. Amazon.com is taking a chunk of commission out of that money so now fans are being asked to contribute money through Paypal, which will make this effort much more cost effective. While fans pool their money to flood the CW with chocolate, The Indian Food Store is working hard to get every available Mars Bar in North America and prepare to ship whatever has been purchased by the fans to Dawn Ostroff and The CW. Contributions must be made by Monday, June 11th.
Can’t afford to contribute but want to tell the CW how you feel? Here’s where you can send a letter::
Dawn Ostroff
President of Entertainment
The CW Network
4000 Warner Boulevard, Bldg 168
Burbank, CA 91522-0002
Whether or not this tactic will actually work is debatable. I’ve pretty much washed my hands of The CW, myself but you never know, right? Sending Mars Bars is a pretty obvious reference to the show but I personally would’ve sent a bag of marshmallows.

CW is a sad excuse for a tv network. The got rid of the only true worth while TV show that they had. VM was the best ass-kicking, sassy girl that was the girl next door. BOYCOTT the CW and maybe they can realize how STUPID they are. Veronica and Logan for ever.
I can honestly say that when Veronica Mars first came out, I didn't make a habit of tuning in. But I can also honestly say that when I did begin to watch it, I was truly amazed with how wonderful the show was. Like many of the other television shows today, the show touched on many topics that affect today' society. However, unlike any of the other shows, it creatively approached its topics in its own unique way that causes people to absolutely fall in love with the show. I am one of those people. Now I feel like as soon as I found this amazing show it is being taken away.
All the new shows look horrible...........I say boycott everything they place in the time slot......There is 2 other shows I watch on CW...........The new shows won't be among my roster
Thought this blog would interest you it's a slap in the face from WGNT 27 myspace........located at myspace.com/wgntcw27
CW doesn't care about the fans so why should we care about them?.........This is from there text go check it out
Hey everyone!
We have been getting TONS of comments about Veronica Mars being taken off the air. Trust me, all of us here at CW27 will miss her too and wish there were something we could do but, the network, our bosses, want it gone so there's nothing we can do.
But, on the bright side, there's some really cool shows coming this fall. We know you're going to love Reaper, Gossip Girl (by the way, Veronica's doing the voice for Gossip Girl), Aliens in America, and all the other great new shows.
Hang in there with us and look forward to the new shows!
Veronica Mars is an extremely clever, witty, interesting, edge-of-your-seat show. There are NO bad episodes with Veronica Mars. Only Great, Excellent, and Extraordinary. I sincerely hope another network picks it up. There are hardly any well-written shows like this around anymore.
Veronica is one of the few interesting women on TV and the series spans gaps of age and genre. The CW should keep it if only to boast that it has one quality program that doesn't cause anyone with more than a brain stem to reach for the remote.
Of all the shows on television right now Veronica Mars is THE best. How can a network just walk away from such an awesome show? It's time for the CW to LISTEN to the fans and the fans are screaming at you to RENEW Veronica Mars!!
Veronica Mars is one of the only shows i watch on CW and i'm sorry but its a hell of alot better than the stupid ass pussycat doll wannabe show... i mean really... they'll take veronica off and put that on? wtf?
i wrote to cw and explained the VM is quality TV for the whole family!
i am going to try to the bars!!
keep up the great work! VM is seriously the best show on TV, and the CW should consider itself blessed!
They can't quit now. . .they totally left us hanging! The CW never gave us a good finale show! The CW better start doing something different because if they don't, I am outta here!
I really, really want to see pictures of the Mars Bars deliveries. :p The CW needs to know... VM fans aren't going to go quietly! We want quality tv like Veronica Mars. If they are going to choose burlesque dancing (pusscat dolls) and reality tv (farmer's wife) instead of quality shows... they need to answer to the pissed off fans.
Save Veronica Mars!! I've sent letters, postcards, emails and now mars bars to the CW to campaign for the renewal of this wonderful show. Stay positive!
