Once upon a time, a guy named Jack Carpenter was cast in a TV show called Lipshitz Saves the World, which centered on a social outcast who found out he might be the guy who was destined to save the world. NBC green-lit the pilot last summer but it never went to series. While that might’ve meant the end of the road for Lipshitz, it certainly wasn’t the end for Jack Carpenter’s budding career.
The Hollywood Reporter announced that Carpenter’s been cast in two new shows. The first being a new half-hour pilot on Comedy Central called Held Up.. In that show, Carpenter will play a bank teller whose boring life takes a dramatic (and comedic) turn when the bank is robbed by two teams of robbers dressed up as the Three Stooges, James Bond, Spider-Man and Batman.
Carpenter also scored a role in the new Fox midseason comedy, The Return of Jezebel James. In this series, a woman named Sarah (played by Parker Posey) gets her estranged younger sister, Coco (Lauren Ambrose of Six Feet Under) to carry her child. Carpenter will play Coco’s ex.
For a guy who only has one movie (yet to be released) under his belt, Carpenter sure is doing well for himself. In addition to these new roles, you can check Carpenter out in Sydney White, which is due out in theaters on September 21st. The movie is a modern take on Snow White and stars Amanda Bynes. Carpenter will be playing Lenny, one of the seven dorks.
