Updates On Future TV Appearances For Paula Abdul

Well, anyone who was hoping to see Paula Abdul on Ugly Betty this fall will be disappointed to learn that that’s not happening. While the former Idol judge was in talks with the producers of ABC to play a guest-starring role on the series as a temp at Mode, it looks as though talks fell through on that deal and if rumors are to be believed, Paula’s holding out for a late-invitation to re-join American Idol.

According to TMZ, their sources say Paula wants back on Idol. As for the rumors about her guest-starring on ABC’s Ugly Betty, from what TMZ says, Abdul wasn’t happy that the network leaked the information about her considering a deal to join the show. TMZ went on to say:

We're also told Paula's meetings with ABC didn't really go anywhere. She doesn't want to do Dancing with the Stars -- we're told, in no small part, because she wants to be able to jump on a plane on a moment's notice to rejoin her fellow judges on Idol.

In other words, nothing’s certain as to what the woman has going on in terms of her career right now. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not she does end up working out her situation with American Idol. TMZ didn’t mention anything about whether or not she’ll be featured on So You Think You Can Dance but E! Online’s Kristin dos Santos has a vague update on that on her blog, which includes a comment by Mary Murphy that in response to Abdul joining the show in some capacity, basically says “You never know.”
