The Walking Dead: Who Was The Hooded Figure And Who's Playing Them In Season 3?

MAJOR SPOILER from tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead ahead! Seriously, if you haven’t watched the Season 2 finale of TWD, you might want to hold off on reading this article as it contains specifics about something that happened to a certain character.

Those who did see The Walking Dead’s second season closer tonight may be wondering who the hooded figure was, who rescued Andrea. Andrea was separated from the rest of the group and on the run from a herd of walkers. She was holding her own in staying alive, but finally reached a point where she was on her back and about to become a walker’s feast, when a hooded figure showed up with two leashed, armless walkers and saved her.

We never got to see the person’s face, but they revealed on Talking Dead tonight that the figure is Michonne, a female character whom fans of the comic books on which the AMC drama is based should be familiar with.

?AMC sent word tonight that Michonne will be played by Danai Gurira, and that she will reappear in Season 3. Gurira’s recent TV appearances include an episode of Lie to Me, and the role of Jill on HBO’s Treme. Will she make a good Michonne? That may be something for comic readers to speculate over as we wait for the third season.

Considering the hooded figure was one of, if not the coolest part of “Beside the Dying Fire,” it’s going to be very exciting to learn how she fits into the story and what becomes of Andrea in Season 3!
