Watch Allison Williams Take Flight In Peter Pan Live Rehearsal Video

If you were wondering if Peter Pan would really take flight in NBC's planned live musical, Allison Williams confirms as much with a video she shared showing her first day harnessed up and flying as she trains for the lead role in Peter Pan Live. The live musical production follows NBC's broadcast ofThe Sound of Music Live, which aired last year.

Girls star Allison Williams was cast as Peter Pan in NBC's Peter Pan Live, a live musical production slated to air on NBC on December 4. The show is being produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who produced The Sound of Music Live!.

While Peter Pan is a boy, Williams isn't the first woman to play the character. In fact, the original Broadway production of Peter Pan, which opened in 1954, starred the great Mary Martin as the lead. It looks like Allison Williams has adopted a similar flight pose to Martin's in-flight position, leg bent and arm out...

Williams' video of her flying lessons came with a message referencing the recently departed Robin Williams, who played Peter Pan in Steven Spielberg's 1991 film Hook.

First day of flying lessons for Pan. Thinking about and missing a hero of mine who once did this and left big shoes to fill.

Peter Pan centers on a group of siblings who are whisked off to Neverland by eternal child Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. In Hook, Robin Williams played a grown version of Peter Pan, while Dustin Hoffman played the role of Pans nemesis, Captain Hook. The film was not a musical and set up as something of a followup to the original story.

NBC's Peter Pan Live will be a telling of the classic story and will show off Williams' demonstrated musical abilities, as she plays the role of Pan, while Christopher Walken plays Captain Hook.

Not long after Williams was cast in Peter Pan Live, she shared a photo of herself in a Peter Pan costume, only she's a bit -- to say the least-- younger than she is now in the photo. Check it out after the jump!
