It looks like 24 isn’t the only mid-season Fox series taking a break from production. The new Joss Whedon series, Dollhouse, which just wrapped their third episode is taking a break so that the series creator can take some time out to work on future scripts.

The Hollywood Reporter posted the news, stating that Whedon’s been busy directing episodes and not spending much time in the writers room. So at Whedon’s request, they’re shutting down production so that he can work on the upcoming scripts that, according to the Reporter, he’s “not completely happy with.”

On the surface it sounds like there could be trouble with the series already but looking at it optimistically, I think it’s great that Whedon is taking such a hands-on approach to this new show. Hopefully the extra time he’s taking to tweak the scripts and get them right will pay off for us when Dollhouse premieres next year.
