Will Barack Obama Appear On SNL?

Could Barack Obama be appearing on Saturday Night Live sometime soon? If the rumors are true, yes! With only a couple weeks left in the election, it’s likely that both presidential candidates will be making some major appearances in an attempt to sway the voters and what better way to do that than to inspire some laughter by guest-starring on SNL?

Defamer reports that their sources say Obama will appear on SNL’s November 1st episode, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed. After Palin appeared last week and the ratings skyrocketed, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if Obama did decide to grace the live show and it’s huge audience (full of registered voters) with that great, big smile of his.

I’m not sure how much the candidates really benefit from these appearances but it sure is fun seeing them poke fun of themselves or at the very least, allowing themselves to be poked fun of (to their faces). In the meantime, SNL is definitely benefiting from this year’s election. Not only have viewers been tuning in to see Tina Fey’s hilarious impersonation of Palin, but the appearance of the real Sarah Palin helped give Saturday Night Live its highest ratings in fourteen years. It’s likely that the ratings will spike again if it’s confirmed that Obama’s going to be featured.
