AMC Hints At The Walking Dead's Season 4 Renewal In A Sweepstakes Announcement

In a few weeks, The Walking Dead will return for its third season at AMC. While no official word about the series' renewal for Season 4 has come down the pipeline just yet, things are looking promising based on an update AMC ran posted on their website for a blood drive sweepstakes, which offers the winner a trip to the set during the filming of Season 4, things are looking good for the series' fate.

If you go to AMCTV.com (or view the screenshot below), you'll see that AMC is running a blood drive sweepstakes that offers the winner a 3 day, 2 night trip to The Walking Dead set drink the filming of Season 4:



THR got in touch with an AMC representative to follow up on this information, and according to their source, while Season 4 hasn't officially been ordered yet, "the renewal is more a question of when rather than if. Apparently, they're confident enough that it'll happen to involve the hypothetical season in a sweepstakes prize. Given the popularity of the zombie drama, which is based on Robert Kirkman's popular comic books, a Season 4 renewal wouldn't be a huge surprise. While the situation certainly looks promising for the series' future, nothing is officially confirmed yet.

If using this (unconfirmed) information was AMC's way of generating a bit of buzz for the blood drive, it's certainly worked! And using the popularity of the drama to promote blood donations with a sweepstakes is also a good thing.
