American Horror Story Season 2 First 5 Minutes Video Reveals More Details About The Asylum
We've seen the vague, disturbing teasers and the more intrigue, hint-filled trailers. Now FX has offered us an even bigger taste of the upcoming second season of American Horror Story. Those who are ready to enter Asylum but don't want to wait until next week can view the first five minutes of the series online. This includes a look at Adam Levine and Jenna Dewan as the frisky newlyweds, who have embarked on a very unusual kind of honeymoon.
FX has made the five-minute video available on the American Horror Story Facebook page. Not only does the pre-credits scene offer us an introduction to the happy couple played by Levine and Dewan, but also get a few interesting facts about the asylum, which will play the backdrop to this series in its second season.

What did we learn from the opening five minutes? For starters, that's a weird honeymoon location, but it seemed to seriously do the trick for these two lovebirds. Of course, things didn't take long to go wrong, and why wouldn't they? According to what was mentioned, 46,000 people died there when the place was the largest tuberculosis ward on the East Coast. They hauled the bodies out in an underground tunnel called the "death shoot" (shudder).
And then the Catholic Church bought the building and turned it into an asylum for the criminally insane. So it's entirely possible that the building was already haunted when the Church bought it in the 60's and turned it into an insane asylum. Whether or not that's actually the case, or whether the hauntings came after the building's asylum-years remains to be seen, but tack on some hard religious discipline (as implied in the trailers) and there's plenty of potential for something thoroughly unnerving in this season.
American Horror Story: Asylum premieres Wednesday, October 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET on FX.
