Amy Poehler And Tina Fey To Host 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have a few key things in common. They both rose to fame through their roles on Saturday Night Live, they're both currently starring in NBC Thursday night comedies, and they're both especially funny women who deserve all of the credit they receive for what they bring to television. Oh, and they're both hosting the Golden Globes next year!

NBC is apparently tapping into its own well of female talent for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, which will air in January. The Golden Globes Twitter announced the news that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will team up to take the stage for the Hollywood Foreign Press' Golden Globes awards show, which celebrates the best of the previous year's movies and television.

Both actors have been demonstrating their substantial talent at NBC for more than a decade. Fey is currently among the stars of NBC's 30 Rock, while Poehler plays the lead in Parks and Recreation. Before that, they were both on Saturday Night Live at (roughly) the same time and co-anchored the NBC sketch comedy series' news segment "Weekend Update" together for a few years. They also starred together in the 2008 comedy Baby Mama. Needless to say, they know how to be funny together on screen and they do it well. It's going to be very exciting to see how they do as hosts for the event and what kind of witty comments and jokes we should expect from them.
