Ashley Tisdale has been working hard to move into production capacity on mainstream television. She and partner Jessica Rhoades have already sold a project, Miss Advised, to Bravo. Back in October, the duo sold another comedy, Under Construction to ABC. The move would have given Tisdale producing as well as acting credits on a major network. However, now it looks like Under Construction won’t be working out, as Tisdale is heading to another network.

Tisdale is headed to CBS to star in an upcoming comedy pilot from comedian Louis C.K. and Seinfeld writer Spike Feresten. This won’t be the first time C.K. and Feresten have worked together. The last time, the whole endeavor failed, but with a few tweaks to the pilot written 13 years ago, the two men are giving their creative enterprise another go. With Louie earning Emmys and being positively received over at FX, perhaps this time the creative duo will land on their feet. I’m hoping so, if only to see some young characters struggle in a way that is more cleverly written than what we’ve gotten on 2 Broke Girls.

The currently untitled multi-camera comedy will follow some young people as they chase their dreams in the big city. According to Deadline, Tisdale will play Petra, an assistant to a struggling fashion designer in New York City. If the show goes to series, it will be a big move for Tisdale, whose biggest role of late has been lending her voice to Disney’s Phineas and Ferb. At least she seems to be in capable hands.
