Avril Lavigne Reportedly Interested In Joining The X Factor As Judge

With two judges/mentors out of The X Factor, the question of who will fill the vacated chairs remains unanswered and rumors continue to swirl. The latest musician to reportedly throw their hat into the ring is Canadian singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne.

TMZ shared the rumor of Lavigne’s interest in joining the judges table of the Fox singing competition series. According to their sources, Lavigne’s people have reached out to The X Factor with an interest in joining the show as a judge, and talks are underway.

Not only has Lavigne been fairly active in the music industry for more than a decade, but she also has a working relationship with X Factor judge L.A. Reid, who produced her debut album “Let Go.”

Lavigne joins a growing list of names of potential judges for the series, including Janet Jackson and LeAnn Rimes. At this point, it’s difficult to know if any of these musicians are serious contenders. From what Simon Cowell said recently, they’re waiting to see who contacts them about the job before they start reaching out to people.

At 27 years old, Lavigne may seem a bit young to be mentoring aspiring musicians, however she does have over ten years of experience working in the industry. That may make her just the right person to take on the girls group. We’ll have to wait and see whether the talks
