Bar Rescue Gets Another Round On Spike TV
Rehabbing failing business has become a pretty popular reality television premise, from Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares to Tabitha Takes Over. The most intriguing of these is probably Bar Rescue, a program that rescues failing bars that has been airing on Spike TV since 2011. Now, Spike has signed on for Season 4 of the hit show.
Spike has ordered 20 more episodes of Bar Rescue, which stars food and beverage industry consultant Jon Taffer. Each week, Taffer travels to a struggling bar in order to determine why the bar is struggling. After he does this, he gives the bar a makeover in order to help that bar get back on its feet. The show has been steadily increasing in the ratings, and it’s no surprise that Spike is ordering another round of Bar Rescue. The show is from the producers of both Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition and The Biggest Loser.
Season 3 of Bar Rescue premiered on Sunday, February 10 and averaged 1.8 million total viewers throughout the recent season. In fact, the series pulled in franchise-high numbers just last month, earning 2.2 million during the episode “A Horse Walks Into A Bar,” which aired on April 7. Since the show just keeps increasing in the ratings, it should be a solid investment for Spike, at least for now.
Spike also announced today that Taffer is signed up for Hungry Investors, a new series that will be a little like Shark Tank and will give investors the opportunity to put money into businesses with potential that need a little help. You can check out Taffer’s no-nonsense attitude, below, or check out Bar Rescue when it returns to the schedule.
