Everything that has happened since the finale of the first season of The Walking Dead has reinvigorated excitement for the show. Many critics felt a significant drop in quality after the phenomenal pilot but everything else we've seen for the second season so far has been spectacular, including this new promo. From the earliest leaked zombie photos to this teaser, AMC knows how to ramp up excitement and one can only expect huge numbers for the premiere.
The latest of the 'shake-ups' mentioned in the previous paragraph was word that special effects and make-up legend/guru/genius Greg Nicotero got a big-time promotion to co-executive producer and is even going behind the camera to direct an episode. This is a pretty cool development for the show and all the best to Nicotero in his new duties, which include delivering a kick-ass new season of zombie mayhem that will span a full 13 episodes (half will air this fall, the second will return February 12, 2012) This newest teaser is all action. It doesn't worry about trying to show any of the character conflicts, the human struggles, the mental strain of dealing with a zombie apocalypse. Nope, it's purely interested in showcasing deaths, and a lot of them, because this season "everybody takes a weapon, remember how to use it." So, sit back, relax and watch the thirty second spot filled with crossbows, handguns, machetes, knives, axes, shotguns and a giant rock. They should make a Walking Dead version of clue, zombie was killed in the farm with a machete thrown in his chest. FTW! The Walking Dead reanimates Sunday, October 16 at 9 p.m. on AMC. Back to top
