Though it's still sort of winter, the better weather is within sight, and with it comes the return of True Blood. Sure, June is still a couple of months off, but it's not so far away that we can't start talking about the HBO vampire drama's return, and the guest stars lined up to appear in the series. That now includes Brothers & Sisters' Luke Grimes, who is set to play the recurring role of a vampire described as a cross between Jim Morrison and Gary Clark Jr. "with even more of a poet's edge."

TVLine shared the news, stating that Grimes will join Rutger Hauer, Arliss Howard, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Amelia Rose Blaire and Karolina Wydra among the guest stars set to appear in True Blood Season 6. Grimes' character James is a vampire who was made in the 70s and is said to be smart, spiritual and emotionally deeper than any of the vampires that have appeared on the show so far.

Between the look of Grimes and the description of his character, I can't help but have a Godric flashback. Eric's maker proved to be particularly emotionally deep toward his end. There's no word on how James fits into the story, or whether or not he's a new creation for the TV show or a product of Charlaine Harris' series on which the show is based. Those who have read the books would know better than I on that front.

In addition to playing Ryan Lafferty in Brothers & Sisters, Grimes' recent credits include Taken 2 and Martin Weisz drama Squatters, which stars Richard Dreyfuss. We should expect to see his character show up in True Blood about halfway through Season 6, which premieres in June.
