Cablevision Restores Fox Channels In Time For World Series Game 3 image
The battle between Cablevision and Fox ended today and from the sounds of it, Fox came out victorious.

Cablevision subscribers who were hoping to see Game 3 of the World Series were in luck tonight as Cablevision switched Fox on before the first pitch was thrown. The Hollywood Reporter posted that Cablevision restored the signals for all of the recently pulled Fox affiliated channels today. The agreement made my Cablevision and Fox came after Fox struck a carriage deal with Dish Network yesterday. The Dish deal may have cost Cablevision some leverage.

While this is good news for Cablevision subscribers, Cablevision sounds only moderately content with the agreement made.

"Cablevision conceded because it does not think its customers should any longer be denied the Fox programs they wish to see...In the end, our customers will pay more than they should for Fox programming, but less than they would have if we had accepted the unprecedented rates News Corp. was demanding when they pulled their channels off Cablevision."

So, while it could have been worse had Cablevision not pushed back a bit, and subscribers can celebrate having Fox back, it seems likely that they’ll pay for this in the long run.
