Charisma Carpenter To Guest Star On Burn Notice

Hearing any news related to actress Charisma Carpenter usually inspires me to think of her role as Cordelia in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, however the role she’ll be playing in an upcoming episode of Burn Notice actually sounds a bit more like the woman she played in Veronica Mars.

According to TV Line, Carpenter is signed on to play a role in Season 5 of USA’s spy thriller series Burn Notice. (Spoiler warning!) Carpenter will play the role of Nicki, who is described as an opinionated “high-maintenance trophy wife. Michael and Fiona end up using Nicki, in order to get to her husband, who’s a bioweapons engineer with some dealings with the Russians that may have gotten him into some trouble.

As I mentioned earlier, Carpenter’s commonly known for her place among the excellent cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff series Angel. While Cordy was opinionated and high-maintenance during “the early years” of Buffy, this role sounds much closer to her role as Richard Casablancas Sr.’s gorgeous, age-inappropriate, wife Kendall. Then again, Nicki sounds more like a dissatisfied wife, willing to be used as bait or a pawn, and a bit less like the cheating, identity-thieving bad girl that Kendall turned out to be.

TV Line says Carpenter’s episode will be the eleventh of the season, which means if Season 5 mirror’s last season’s schedule, the episode wont air until the fall.

Burn Notice airs Thursdays at 9/8c on USA.
