It’s official: the deal that many Glee fans have been waiting and hoping for has been closed. Chord Overstreet will rejoin the cast of the series as a regular for next season. It’s been quite the ride for Overstreet and his character Sam Evans, but the negotiations have finally wrapped up and the word is he’s in.

The Hollywood Reporter says Overstreet finalized a deal today to come back on board for Season 4 as a regular. He left the show after Season 2 when his contract wasn’t renewed, but wound up returning in a recurring role towards the end of Season 3. Since then, it’s been rumors, negotiations, and a whole lot of waiting for fans who really missed him while he was gone. Well, fans, you can rejoice, as of September Sam Evans is back for the season.

He’ll be one of the many familiar faces back for the new season, although several will be dropping their series regular status. Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith have all seen their character’s graduate, and thus won’t be around in the same capacity. They, along with the rest of the Season 3 regulars, will still have roles on the show. The fourth season of Glee will divide the action between Ohio and New York, with Chord Overstreet set to be a part of the Ohio cast.

Not returning for Season 4 is Damian McGinty, although co-Glee Project-winners Samuel Larsen and Alex Newell are both still negotiating a return. Season 4 kicks off on Fox on September 13th.
