While last nightís season finale of Dancing with the Stars brought in big numbers as viewers tuned in to see which contestant took home this seasonís mirror ball, the ratings were still down from last seasonís finale. Still, ABC pulled off a win for the night, beating out Foxís The X Factor by more than ten million viewers.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dancing with the Starsís Season 13 finale took in a whopping 19.5 million viewers, which is a good showing, but still, down 23% from last seasonís finale, when Jennifer Grey won the mirror ball. Meanwhile, due to Thanksgiving being tomorrow, Fox had to adjust the X Factor schedule, which meant putting the performance episode last night, with the results show (and double elimination!) set to air tonight instead of Thursday. Last nightís episode brought in 9.3 million viewers, earning a 2.7 rating. Chalk it up to the holiday week, the scheduling change, or the conflict with Dancing with the Stars, but those numbers are down 18 percent in the 18-49 demo from last weekís performance episode.
Also down were NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles, which hit series and season lows with 18.5 million and 14 million viewers respectively. Unforgettable also dropped to 10.3 million viewers last night. Despite the declines, those arenít exactly bad numbers for any network TV show by todayís standards.
As for NBC, The Biggest Loser and Parenthood were also down last night. The weight loss competition series earned 5.6 million viewers (2.0), and family drama Parenthood clocked in with 4.5 million viewers, marking a new season low.
Hereís a look at what victory looks like (on Dancing with the Stars anyway) as JR Martinez celebrates winning the season.
