Dexter Season 7, Episode 5 - Swim Deep

Last night's episode of Dexter brought a few issues to the surface. Deb doesn't seem to be fully on board with Dexter's situation just yet, but she's getting there. Looking at the preview for next week's episode though, I have to wonder if she might not see the problems the situation will create for her now that she knows.

Once upon a time, Dexter had to navigate around Deb's position at work. And sure, sometimes he benefited from it. That inside information at Miami Metro has come in handy on numerous occasions. But now that she knows what he is, Deb is a participant in Dexter's actions in her own way. From the promo for "Swim Deep," it seems LaGuerta is sniffing around the Bay Harbor Butcher case. Now that Deb knows its Dexter, she'll have to actively lie to cover for Dexter if she isn't prepared to turn him in. Is this something she'll be able to do? And for how long?



Hannah continues to sniff around Dexter. How long before these two are spending some downtime together? And what kind of trouble is she going to get Dexter into? Speaking of trouble, it also looks like Isaak's ready to start communicating with Dexter. Given the reveal that he and Viktor were in love, Dexter may be in for some real trouble here. Viktor wants revenge and this situation is very personal for him. Right now, we might assume that Dexter has to fear for his life, but what if Viktor's the type of man who goes the eye-for-an-eye route to vengeance?
