Did Paula Tell Nicole Scherzinger To Let It Go To Deadlock During Last Week's X Factor Results?Author: Kelly West

There have been a lot of strong opinions over how things went down during last week’s results episode of The X Factor. Young singer Rachel Crow was eliminated after judge Nicole Scherzinger forced the vote to a tie and let America’s vote decide which contestant would go. Based on this video, it’s looking like Paula Abdul may also be responsible for how things played out.
TMZ posted the video of the segment that included Nicole’s choice to vote to eliminate Crow, which tied the judges’ vote and forced it to a “deadlock.” TMZ’s video, which you can watch below, includes audio of what sounds like Abdul’s voice saying, “Let it go. Let it go to the deadlock. Let it go to the deadlock.” TMZ credits “volume tinkering” for catching the audio. Though as you’ll see, we never actually see Paula saying these words. She’s off camera when you hear them, but it’s clear she is saying something to Scherzinger just before she makes her decision. Does Abdul’s participation in Scherzinger’s decision make a difference? I’d say no, not really, but then again, it’s not all that surprising, considering Paula is usually the most indecisive of all of the judges. Maybe Abdul and Scherzinger aren’t cut out for the responsibilities put on them in this series. It’s one thing to weed out the non-talent in the early rounds and then offer commentary in the later rounds as the judges do in American Idol, it’s another to be the one to pull the plug on someone’s chances when they’re nearly within sight of the finish line. It’s unfortunate that Crow was eliminated but someone had to go and I’d have a hard time arguing that she could’ve won out over Melanie Amaro or Josh Krajcik anyway. The two seem to be primed to face off in the final two. Then again, there are still two other people in the running (Marcus Canty and Chris Rene). Speaking of which, check out the promotional photo of The X Factor’s Final Four below.
