Eastbound & Down's Season 3 Blu-ray Will Come With An Exclusive Deleted Scene

Eastbound & Down’s 3rd season followed some wacky plotlines that led up to a pretty strange and epic finale that was assumed to be the series’ last episode. Though the show ended up getting a renewal from HBO, Season 3 happens to be a pretty climactic season, one that fans will be able to own on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download beginning on December 4.

Eastbound & Down: The Complete Third Season follows Kenny Powers as he as he finds himself playing minor league baseball in South Carolina. The season followed a slightly less aggressive and slightly more mature version of the hit character as he dealt with the struggles of being a new father. Like any good comedy, the special features with the set won’t really reflect much of this ‘deeper meaning’ stuff. Instead, fans will be privy to a blooper reel, deleted scenes, and eight audio commentaries from several of the cast members, including Danny McBride and Jody Hill. There’s also an “exclusive” deleted scene that is listed separately from the rest of deleted fodder. It must be pretty special to be singled out like that.

  HBO’s Eastbound & Down really seems to be the show that just keeps on giving. After rumors abounded the show was going to be canceled after its third season, HBO announced they were giving the down-and-out baseball player’s story yet another go. Season 4 of the hit show has eight episodes on the schedule, which are set to air sometime in 2013. It’s pretty exciting, but I’m not sure the series will be able to top a season that was supposed to be the final bow.
