Like CBS, Fox isn't adding much to its Midseason line-up in the way of new programming. Most of what the network has stacked up on its Winter 2013 schedule are series returning from the winter hiatus, and for fans of their Animation Domination line-up and shows like New Girl and Ben and Kate, that in itself is good news. But there's also the season premieres of Touch and American Idol to looking forward to and the debut of the network's promising new drama The Following.
Winter for Fox is American Idol season, and it has been for the network for a decade or so, so we should be used to that by now. Those who aren't exhausted from The Voice and/or The X Factor will have rumored tension between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj to look forward to when Idol returns for its 12th season. Twelve. The show is officially in its tween years. Idol returns on January 16. And Fox's new serial killer-focused drama The Following gets started the week after that, with a premiere date of Monday, January 21. The network also has a special behind-the-scenes look at The Following set to air the Saturday before the series makes its official premiere. Season 2 of Touch will finally get going early in February. And amidst all of that, the winter premieres of the comedies and dramas that are resuming their schedules are set to take place. Sunday, Jan. 6 8:00-8:30 PM - The Simpsons Back to top
