Fox Sets Tuesday Night For Comedies, Including Breaking In Season 2Author: Kelly West

It looks like Fox is shaping up to make Tuesday night all about the comedy. It kind of already is, if we were to count Glee as a comedy, which it sometimes is. But Glee’s “winter finale” is approaching, which will free up an hour on Tuesday nights and give Fox two half-hour spots, one of which will go to the return of Breaking In, and the other I Hate My Teenage Daughter.
Fox made their plans known today, stating that Glee’s winter finale will air Tuesday, February 21st. After that, the show will not return until Tuesday, April 10th. Between those dates, Tuesday nights will feature two hours of comedies. Beginning March 6th, here’s how Fox’s Tuesday nights will look: 8:00 p.m. - Raising Hope 8:30 p.m. - I Hate My Teenage Daughter 9:00 p.m. - New Girl 9:30 p.m. - Breaking In Breaking In’s getting a second chance and one that will hopefully yield better ratings than its first season did. Megan Mullally joining the show (and the Contra Security team) may draw some much needed attention to it. In the meantime, it’ll also get a New Girl lead-in, which could certainly help. As far as where things pick up for the comedy, here’s what Fox had to say on the subject: When Contra Security is bought out by a stuffy, multi-billion dollar global corporation, how will this group of high-IQ oddballs, led by mastermind Oz (Christian Slater), react to their new owners and new boss, Veronica Mann (Mullally)? It sounds like Season 2 will be a fresh start for Contra as much as it is for the show. This could work out nicely for the series, as it might mean those who didn’t tune in for the series’ first season will have an easy time getting on board with it when Season 2 picks up. |
