Good Morning America has been slowly increasing in the ratings over the last couple of months, continually trumping and sometimes even dominating Today in the ratings. If you havenít been keeping tabs on the ratings increases, the numbers are pretty impressive, especially considering Good Morning America landed behind Today in the ratings for many years. Now, that ratings increase has continued in November with key wins for ABCís hit early morning show.
Weíre reaching the final days of the turkey-filled month, and Good Morning America is boasting the ratings win in both total viewers and the 25-54 demographic. The hit early morning show, which airs from 7 to 9 a.m. ET, averaged a 1.7 rating through the month of November, with 2.03 million viewers in the 25-54 demographic. According to Deadline, Today was not too far behind in the demographic, pulling 1.9 million viewers. Unfortunately, NBCís early morning program didnít even come close to catching Good Morning America in total viewers.
Though they were close-ish in the key demographic ratings, Good Morning America pulled ahead in total viewers, nabbing 5.3 million total viewers during the November sweeps. Today faltered a little more this month, with 4.9 million total viewers. These numbers are huge for Good Morning America, a show that hadnít won the November sweeps in total viewers in roughly two decades, and who hadnít won the coveted demographic ratings in even longer. Itís officially looking like Good Morning America will hold on to its ratings win in the coming months.
