iTunes, Amazon Beef Up Stargate Downloads

iTunes, Amazon Beef Up Stargate Downloads Great news for Stargate fans. No, Kurt Russell won't be replacing Amanda Tapping as head honcho on Stargate Atlantis (what a great idea for some fanfic though). iTunes and Amazon Unbox have made every single broadcast episode of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis available for legal download, according to Gateworld. That means, if you can dig up a few bucks, you can catch up with these great sci-fi shows in high quality formats instead of that pixelated expanded YouTube window most of us are used to.

iTunes just added seasons seven through ten of SG1 this week. Amazon's download service also recently added the last five seasons of the popular series based on the 1994 movie starring Russell and James Spader. Atlantis, a spin-off of the original series now in its fourth season, recently won the People's Choice Award for Favorite Sci-Fi Show. Fans can now download all four seasons on iTunes and Unbox with episodes still being posted soon after their upcoming air dates on Sci fi Channel.

Both services are offering each episode at the usual rate of $1.99 each. Fans can also download the original movie and its soundtrack from both services.
