Supernatural creator Erik Kripke's career certainly isn't hurting these days, despite having left the Brothers Winchester in the capable hands of showrunner Sera Gamble and company. We told you a few weeks back that Kripke would be lending his supernatural experience to an adaptation of DC Comics' Deadman character for The CW. Now Deadline reports that Kripke is teaming up with one of the biggest -- and busiest -- names in entertainment: J.J. Abrams. Kripke and Abrams will be working together on a new pilot called Revolution for NBC.
Given Abrams' involvement, it's not terribly surprising that details are sparse at this point. NBC has given the show a pilot production commitment, and the show is described simply as "an epic adventure thriller." Which, let's face it, could mean pretty much anything. Still, it's impossible to fault the talent involved, so assuming the show makes it to air, it should be interesting to see if Abrams and Kripke are two great tastes that taste great together. Not that I'm suggesting you should lick either of them. That will probably get you arrested. Revolution marks the latest move in Abrams' scheme to take complete control of the television landscape via his Bad Robot production company. In addition to Revolution, whenever it should eventually materialize, last week saw the premiere of Person of Interest, created and written by Jonathan "The Dark Knight" Nolan, and the Lost-esque Alcatraz is still coming down the pike. Stay tuned for more details on Revolution as they develop. |
