It should come as no surprise to anyone that Michael Jackson will be honored at this year’s Grammy Awards. After the death of the King of Pop last year, the music industry will pay homage to Jackson with a tribute featuring a 3D clip.
The Hollywood Reporter posted the news, stating that Jackson will be the focal point of the show. The 3D clip, which was made by Jackson and meant to be used during his comeback concerts in London last summer will be shown during the ceremony. Usher, Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson will perform alongside the clip. The 3D clip is for the song “Earth Song,” and though I haven’t seen This is It, apparently part of the clip was shown in the movie documentary. The full version will be broadcast at the Grammy’s. As for how you’ll be able to view the clip in 3D, this is the information the Reporter posted: “Viewers can get free 3D "Grammy" glasses from Target stores nationwide from Jan. 24 through Jan. 31, when the 52nd annual Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS (8 p.m. EST). Ehrlich says TV viewers can see the clip without the glasses, but won't see the 3D effect.” “Earth Song” was recorded in 1995. It was released on Jackson’s album HIStory: Past, Present and Future Book 1. Below is the original music video, which has some graphic images (including a seal being clubbed). |
