NBC has announced one of the advisers for the next season of The Voice, and it’s going to be old-school crooner Micheal Buble. The singer will be teamed up with Blake Shelton to mentor his team of singers for the reality competition show, which is already filming the new season; in fact, Buble was already on the set yesterday getting to work.

EW says Buble described himself as a big fan of Blake Shelton, although the two have very different musical styles, one being a country singer and the other the modern Frank Sinatra. He’s apparently having a great time on the set of the show working with the contestants. Buble isn’t entirely new to singing competitions; he did a stint on The X Factor back in 2009 as a special guest. He also guest-judged on the Australian version of Idol that same year. Buble joins names like Jewel, Kelly Clarkson, and fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette on the roster of singers who have advised on the show. Musically speaking, Buble is in a different class from many of the singers who have passed through the show; it will be interesting to see what he adds.

So far, NBC hasn’t announced who the advisers will be for the other three coaches on The Voice, but it’s likely we’ll hear soon who will be working with Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, and Adam Levine and their respective teams. With filming underway already no doubt those announcements will follow shortly. The next season of The Voice is set to premiere on September 10th.
