Set to premiere next week is Fox's new medical drama The Mob Doctor, which stars Jordana Spiro as a doctor who agrees to work for the mob in an effort to pay off her brother's debt. Fox released a video clip from the series that paints an interesting picture of the kind of work Spiro's Dr. Grace Devlin will be doing in her side-job as a mob doctor.
I suppose as a surgeon, Dr. Devlin should be used to seeing all sorts of strange injuries and ailments. The video below shows her working with a patient that, judging by the injury and the setting, I think we can assume is part of her work as a "mob doctor." Going by the chew toy and the animals, I'm going to guess she's set up at a veterinary office. Not a bad place for a secret exam room, what with the access to Fentanyl and medical supplies. And then there's the guy with the thing in his head. Is that a screwdriver? Guess that's what you get when you rob a hardware store when you're drunk. This clip shows us Devlin at her actual job, and working alongside Dr. Brett Robinson (Zach Gilford as a doctor again!). The two doctors discover something unusual about this young patient. Sounds like a mystery for Dr. House!… Unfortunately, House is gone. Will The Mob Doctor fill the departed medical drama's shoes? The Mob Doctor premieres Monday, September 17 at 9/8c on Fox.
