There's an update to the Modern Family casting negotiations situation and things are looking much better than they were earlier this week. At least, with regards to the series getting production for its fourth season going on time so that it can return as scheduled in September.
On Tuesday, we shared the news that some of the cast of ABC's hit comedy series Modern Family were taking legal action regarding their contracts for the series, and that the scheduled table-read for the fourth season's production did not take place as planned. With ABC posting their Fall 2012 primetime premiere schedule, the clock is now officially ticking. While talks are still in the works for the casts contracts, TV Line reports that the table-read, which was rescheduled from Tuesday to today, did take place, and the entire cast was present for it. That's certainly a good sign, especially when considering that Season 4 is on the schedule to premiere exactly two months from today. Now we can only hope that the numbers and paperwork are all worked out for cast-members Ed O'Neill, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, all of whom managed to earn Emmy nominations this year for their efforts in the ABC series' third season. Modern Family is currently set to return for Seeason 4 on Wednesday, September 26 at 9:00 p.m. Back to top
