After Two and a Half Men star Angus T. Jones’ chocking comments bashing the show and asking people not to watch it hit the web yesterday, it was only a matter of time before he was the target of satire. As it turns out, it only took a day. Today The Office star Rainn Wilson posted a video on this Facebook page spoofing the Jones’ rant.
For those of you who missed it, Angus T. Jones had jaws dropping yesterday as he called the show that made him a star and a seriously wealthy young man “filth” and begged people not to watch it. The comments were part of a religious testimony he recorded for Forerunner Christian Church, in which he declared the show to be the work of “the enemy”, an allusion to the devil, and said he didn’t want to be a part of it. So far, he has yet to hand in his resignation, although he isn’t set to appear in the next two episodes being taped (that was already planned, and isn’t due to the video).
Producers on the show have yet to respond to the video, but Rainn Wilson of The Office didn’t let it slide without a response. He posted a video on his Facebook page earlier today spoofing Jones earnest religious convictions.
Rainn implores people not to watch The Office, repeating Jones’ use of the word filth as well as “the enemy” comments, all while blatantly plugging the show’s final season. Sitting next to him, arms crossed, is co-star Craig Robinson, in the same position as the religious leader seen in Jones’ video. I’m guessing Angus T. Jones won’t be amused by the spoof, but I am.
Another response to the video came from former Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen today. He told People that the show "is cursed". Cursed with off-the-wall stars, maybe.
