Oxygen made a number of announcements today regarding their original programming, including the premiere dates for The Glee Project, Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings and The World According to Paris. They also announced details on some projects in development, including Lost Angels, a series that follows Olivia Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi.
Before we get to what’s new, Hair Battle Spectacular is set to return for a second season, following its successful first season run. Hosted by actor/model Eva Marcille, HBS features hair stylists who compete in various challenges to show of their skills. The series will return for Season 2 this summer. Dating competition series Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too returns April 18th at 10:00 p.m. The Bad Girls Club spin-off series follows a group of bachelors who compete to win the affections of some of the Bad Girls.
New series Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings premieres this Wednesday (April 6th) at 10:00 p.m. The show follows Tori and Dean as they attempt to make one couple’s wedding an extraordinary event. Paris Hilton’s new reality series The World According to Paris premieres Wednesday, June 1st at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Much like Tori and Dean, Paris is no stranger to reality TV, so it should be interesting to see what she does with this new opportunity to expose her personal and professional life to the cameras. This one promises to offer a “a revealing look at how Paris handles consequences of past decisions and her management of her successful fashion and style empire.”
The Glee Project debuts Sunday, June 13th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and is created by Glee showrunner Ryan Murphy. This 10-episode competition series features young adults hoping to win a spot on the popular Fox musical series Glee.
And apparently what happens in Vegas sometimes ends up on Oxygen. Bachelorette Party: Las Vegas premieres this summer and follows various brides-to-be as they live up their last night(s) of singlehood with their friends in Las Vegas.
Among the series being developed by Oxygen is Maids of Drama (working title), a series that follows what sounds like the bridesmaid equivalent to a “bridezilla,” with each episode focusing on a different “badly behaved” bridal party. Lost Angels (working title) stars Olivia Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi and deals with her life in Hollywood and being the daughter of a famous singer/actor.
My Post Grad Life (wt) follows two groups of girls, one in Philadelphia and the other in Boston as they move in with each other and deal with the challenges that come with life after college. Love Scouts features Olivia “Liv” Alexander and her team of matchmaking scouts as they search the local hot spots in Hollywood (clubs, malls, etc) to find potential romantic matches for high-profile clients.
Some of the above projects sound intriguing, including The Glee Project. It’ll be interesting to see how that one does and how well it ends up tying in with Glee.
