Pierce Brosnan Returning To TV For Spy Series
Pierce Brosnan isn't quite ready to turn over film roles in favor of a TV gig, as so many other actors his age have done to great success, but he is making a comeback on the small screen. According to Deadline he'll play a small role on and executive produce a forthcoming "investigative thriller" series created by former ER producer and writer Jack Orman. It should be familiar territory for the erstwhile James Bond-- the main character is a "fixer," a private investigator who travels the world to help solve particularly difficult crimes.
Deadline compares Brosnan's involvement in the series to the role Hugh Jackman played on Viva Laughlin, a comparison probably no one wants to hear given that Laughlin lasted for only one critically mocked episode. But hey, Brosnan is no television newbie-- he's Remington Steele, dammit. If anyone deserves our unblinking support in this genre, I'd say it's this guy.
