Sure, the Glee kids have had a ton of success touring the country between seasons, and the tickets for the American Idol and Dancing With The Stars tours sell out in minutes. But how, exactly, do the Real Housewives plan on cashing in on that? Starting this October, your favorite, or at least most notable, Housewives from New Jersey, Beverly Hills, Orange County, Atlanta, Miami and New York will be hitting the road, giving you the chance to spend as much as $170 to spend the evening in their presence. What will they be doing? How will they be at all interesting without a team of editors to shape their narratives? Bravo isn't saying, simply promising that they're giving fans "a unique, hands-on experience with their favorite cast members across franchises that they can't experience anywhere else." If I were the publicist for any of these women, that phrase "hands on" would be giving me pause this morning.
Here's the schedule of appearances, which so far is limited to just three cities but could easily expand if the tickets sell quickly.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ
If I were to make an actual guess as to what this tour will entail, I'd say it'll be something like the reunion shows, where the Housewives sit in a circle, look at footage from their respective seasons, share behind-the-scenes gossip and probably squabble with each other over nonsense. But that doesn't mean I won't hope for something more. Singing and dancing! Table-throwing contests! Far more drinking than should be legally allowed! The housewives have proven with their very participation on the show that they'll do anything for fame, so now seems to be the right time to push the envelope. If you'll be buying tickets-- they go on sale at Ticketmaster starting this Friday at 10 am-- please let us know in the comments and promise to get back to us with a full report.
