Starz subscribers will be getting more of Ryan Hansen’s egotistically-charged humor when Party Down returns next month and it seems the Veronica Mars alum will be even busier on the small screen now that he’s been cast in a new NBC comedy pilot.

According to the Hollywood Reporter Hansen, who played Dick Casablancas in the gone-but-not-forgotten Veronica Mars and is currently one of the co-stars in Starz’s comedy series Party Down was cast to replace Patrick J. Adams in NBC’s upcoming comedy pilot Friends with Benefits.

For those familiar with the term, FwB’s plot is pretty self explanatory. The series centers on a group of twenty-somethings who are looking for love but content to engage in casual relationships with each other. Hansen will be playing the role of Ben, a guy looking for Ms. Perfect but is currently sleeping with his friend Sara, played by One Tree Hill’s Danneel Harris.

While it’s definitely good news to see Hansen branching out (and returning to network TV), I hope this doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing less of him on Party Down if this new series gets picked up.
