There were a number of stories being set up on NBC’s new musical-drama Smash, one of which involved two young aspiring Broadway stars who are looking to win the lead role of Marilyn Monroe in a new musical. Who should get the part? Who will get it? Megan Hilty’s Ivy? Or Katharine McPhee’s Karen?
Whichever “team” you’re on, I think we can all agree that both women are exceptionally talented. But talent isn’t all it takes to land a part like this. Which girl will be able to capture Marilyn’s star quality? Check out this promotional photo below, which has Karen and Ivy both dressed up as the film icon and see if it helps you make your choice, if you haven’t already...  Based on the above photo, both make amazing Marilyns! I think as far as fan support, it'll come down to which character we like better. Right now, the show seems set up for for Karen to be the underdog, having less experience than Ivy and new to the theater scene in New York. But Ivy's worked hard and you can't deny that she's talented. Vote in the poll below and let us know which "team" you're on!
