At the end of the month, E! will be shaking things up by moving the excellent pop-culture clip show The Soup from Fridays to Wednesdays. Whether you consider this good news or bad news probably depends on how packed your TV-viewing schedule is.

We just received word about the scheduling change. Starting November 30th, those of you who want to see Joel McHale serve up his weekly dose of sarcasm as he discusses the week in pop culture will have to tune in to E! on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. This news also came with word of the show’s new website and Soup mobile apps, which should work nicely to satisfy the appetites of the fans.

Honestly, as much as I would normally say that moving a show away from Friday night is a good thing, I don’t think that’s the case for The Soup. For one thing, they’re putting it up against South Park (and against Revenge, which presents a conflict in my TV schedule already). For another, while I'm sure the Soup will taste just as good on Wednesday night, it just feels like a Friday night (or DVR’ed and watched Saturday morning) show. Am I alone on this? It’ll be interesting to see if the shift has a drastic effect on the ratings.
