The official word is in and South Park isn’t going anywhere! Comedy Central put the word out today that they have reached a new deal with the creators of their long-running animated comedy series and the show will go on for three more seasons of the show.

According to Comedy Central’s announcement, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have reached a new deal for South Park, which will keep the series on the air through 2016 (and a milestone 20th season!).

"COMEDY CENTRAL has been our home for 15 years and we love working there," said Parker and Stone.  "'South Park' is a blast and we can't wait to make more."

Some people (myself included) speculated back in June, that the series might be on the way out, following the “You’re Getting Older” episode, which dealt with the topic of cynicism and included comments about the same stuff happening over and over again. Apparently, we were reading too much into it to think we might be looking at the beginning of the end for the series.

South Park is currently airing new episodes on Comedy Central, the next of which airs tonight and will have Kenny’s parents getting arrested. Watch a clip below and tune in for the full episode tonight (Wednesday) at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.
