The dust has settled on Beverly Hills Cop not becoming a series in the near future, but another hugely popular action comedy is attempting to head to television. Warner Bros. TV has sealed the deal to turn the buddy cop pic Rush Hour into a series full of big stunts and bigger laughs.

Bill Lawrence's New Comedy Ground Floor Teaser Finds Love In An Elevator

TBS is bringing a bit more Bill Lawrence to their original programming this fall with the debut of Ground Floor, a new comedy starring Pitch Perfect's Skyler Astin, Scrubs' John C. McGinley and Cougar Town's Briga Heelan. The teaser above has fun with an Aerosmith song and an elevator that demonstrates the divide for those up at the top floor and those at the bottom. I guess that makes the elevator common ground?

Bill Lawrence's Ground Floor And Cee Lo Green Reality Show Coming To TBS In 2014

TBS has a couple of new series on the way, one scripted and one unscripted. On the reality front, the network will be giving us a look inside the work and life of musician Cee Lo Green with The CeeLo Life (working title). Meanwhile, on the scripted side, Cougar Town and Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and 2 Broke Girls' Greg Malins have a new comedy series headed to TBS called Ground Floor.

Cougar Town Showrunner Bill Lawrence Is Stepping Down After This Season

The changes in Cougar Town are still coming down the line. It’s not just a new network that’s in the cards for the series, but also a new showrunner, news that came about via an interview with star Courteney Cox. Bill Lawrence, the force behind the show, is stepping down as showrunner as of next season.

Damon Lindelof Bags On Lost's Third Season Via Twitter

Lindelof's good-natured dig at his own show apparently resonated quite a bit with some of his fellow show creators. Soon both Bill "Scrubs" Lawrence and Shonda "Grey's Anatomy" Rhimes weighed in with their own regrets about which shows didn't work, or didn't work as well as they could have.

Ratings Come In At Series Low For Cougar Town's Long-Awaited Return

Well, you can’t say it wasn’t predicted. Cougar Town creator Bill Lawrence said the show would likely return to low ratings, and was he ever right. The much-publicized premiere of the new season after a long absence not only had low ratings, but the lowest the series has ever seen. I’m not sure even Lawrence thought it would be this bad.

Scrub's Bill Lawrence and Friend's Greg Malins Land Pilot At CBS

If someone were to tell me Bill Lawrence, the creator of such hits as Spin City and Cougar Town, were to hook up with Greg Malins, the executive producer on Friends and How I Met Your Mother, for a series, I would declare fate had a funny bone. Usually the ethos can’t cook up such a supreme comedy duo. TV juggernauts are often lone wolves fighting for creative control, or else are working in restricted contracts which would limit a person’s matchmaking field.

Courteney Cox To Star In New ABC Comedy Series

ABC has a new comedy series in the works. The series, which is titled Cougar Town (I’m guessing the title has little to do with actual cats) is the creation of Scrubs mastermind Bill Lawrence. What’s more, Courteney Cox is has been brought on board for the lead role.
