Catfish: The TV Show follows Nev Schulman and filmmaker Max Joseph as they travel around the country, seeking to help couples who have online relationships to meet in real life. Sometimes both members of the couple are exactly who they say they are, but other times, hidden identities may be uncovered that help to tear couples apart. Catfish The TV Show Renewed For Season 2

Apparently, watching awkward internet-relationship confrontations makes for good television. Catfish is based on a documentary film about a guy who begins to discover his internet girlfriend may not be who she claims to be. The TV series, which MTV has renewed for a second season, has Nev Schulman putting his experience on the subject of online dating to good use by helping other people stage a real-life encounter with their online romance.

The first episode premiered last night and you can watch it in its entirety here.

MTV Turning Catfish Into A Reality Show

Relatively Media is developing a reality show for MTV based on the film Catfish. The documentary follows a photographer who falls in love with a woman he meets on Facebook but eventually finds out she isn’t exactly who she claimed to be. The reality show will likely take a similar look at the subject.
