Drop Dead Diva Cancelled Again, Season 6 Will Be Its Last
Lifetime has cancelled Drop Dead Diva again. But there's a bright side to the situation this time around, as news of the cancellation comes ahead of the sixth season premiere, as opposed to after the season aired. The last time they cancelled the show, fans were left hanging on a pretty major cliffhanger. Hopefully that won't be the case for Season 6.
Drop Dead Diva Renewed For Season 6
There was a point in time when it was looking like Drop Dead Diva’s fate was sealed. In fact, Lifetime cancelled the series after its fourth season, leaving viewers hanging after a potentially major twist was thrown in during the Season 4 closer. But things got worked out and the drama returned for Season 5, which began airing back in June and recently returned for its second half earlier this month.
Drop Dead Diva Gets A New Season 5 Promo
In a few weeks, Drop Dead Diva makes its grand return. And those of us keeping up with the news on this series won't take that for granted. The Lifetime drama was nearly cancelled. In fact, it was cancelled, but Lifetime gave it a reprieve, which gives us a chance to see how last season's major cliffhanger is resolved! The newest promo teases that, and gives us a look at the new guardian angel, whom TVLine reminds us, is played by Justin Deeley.
Drop Dead Diva Season 5 Premiere Date Set For June
Drop Dead Diva lives! The formerly cancelled, then saved Lifetime drama series now has a premiere date for its fifth season. Those of us who are eager to see how things pick up for the series have only to wait until June 23 for the fifth season to make its debut.
Drop Dead Diva Season 4 Will Hit DVD In June
The Season 4 finale left things wide open for a fifth season, and didn’t offer anything in the way of closure for its characters. If you haven’t caught the epic finale or some of the Season 4 episodes, don’t worry, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is bringing Drop Dead Diva: The Complete Fourth Season to DVD on June 18.
Drop Dead Diva Could Return To Lifetime For Season 5 After All
There's good news, Drop Dead Diva fans! Well, kind of. Nothing is set in stone yet, but it's looking like Lifetime might be ready to hit the "Return" button on the series and bring it back for a fifth season. Talks are reportedly in the works between Lifetime and Sony TV to iron out the financial details, which would allow the series to follow up on the cliffhanger from the end of Season 4.
Could Drop Dead Diva Be Brought Back From The Dead?
Earlier this week, we shared the unfortunate news that Lifetime was not renewing their drama series Drop Dead Diva for Season 5. At that time, it was reported that Sony might be shopping the drama around in the hopes of finding a new home for the show. Series creator Josh Berman has offered an update on the situation and while nothing sounds certain, he seems optimistic that all is not completely lost for the series.
Drop Dead Diva Gets Dropped By Lifetime
Drop Dead Diva fans will be disappointed to know that Lifetime as reportedly passed on picking up the drama series for a fifth season. All hope is not lost though as it's also reported that Sony Pictures TV might try to find another home for the series. This news comes just a few months after Drop Dead Diva wrapped up Season 4 with a pretty sizable cliffhanger.
Drop Dead Diva Bringing Back Kim Kardashian, Nancy Grace
Kardashian is set to return for the second-to-last episode of the season for Lifetime’s hit show. She will be joined by none other than Nancy Grace, who has appeared in a guest starring capacity on the show in the past. While I am not sure Grace can beat her guest stint on Raising Hope, her tenure as herself on Drop Dead Diva will feature an interview with Jane as well as a black eye.
Joan Rivers Will Guest On Drop Dead Diva
Drop Dead Diva has added yet another big name guest star to its roster for the upcoming season, and this time she’s a serious diva herself. Joan Rivers is taking a break from loudly judging how everyone in Hollywood looks to pop by the show for a two-episode guest appearance.
Saving Grace's Lorraine Toussaint Will Guest On Drop Dead Diva This Season
Drop Dead Diva returns to the air next month for its fourth season, and the series has been putting together a list of guest stars that includes Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams, and now Saving Grace star Lorraine Toussaint. She’s coming on board to play a former law professor and mentor to Jane who becomes an opponent in the courtroom.
Netflix Watch Instantly To Add Dawson's Creek, More Drop Dead Diva And Other TV Shows In May
Netflix has a number of upcoming TV shows set to join their Watch Instantly line-up. Based on this list, most of what's being added in the coming weeks are new seasons to currently available shows, but also included is Discovery's show The Will: Family Secrets Revealed, and British detective series Vera.
Lifetime Announces Season 4 Premiere Date For Drop Dead Diva
With all of the hullabaloo surrounding Kardashian’s appearance in the Season 4 premiere as relationship advice-giver Nikki LePree, it has seemed like Drop Dead Diva has been on the brink of airing new episodes for months. Unfortunately, fans still have a while to wait to see their favorite smiling faces, but on the bright side, Lifetime has now figured out a premiere date. Drop Dead Diva will return on June 3.
Carter MacIntyre Of Undercovers Joins Drop Dead Diva
There’s some big casting news for Drop Dead Diva’s fourth season, and it comes in the form of one seriously dashing guardian angel. Carter MacIntyre is joining the series in a regular role when it returns to Lifetime this summer. What does it mean for the storyline? There’s some speculation, but no one knows for sure yet
Kim Kardashian Joins Drop Dead Diva In Multi-Episode Role
The Kardashian sister with the lovely figure is set for a multiple episode role on Season 4 of Drop Dead Diva. Kardashian is set to play Nikki, a potent love interest for Ben Feldman’s character, Fred. There’s no word yet on whether she will be a headliner or a sideliner in her role, but creator Josh Berman says the gig is all about seeing Kardashian in a new light.
Drop Dead Diva Gets A Fourth Season
I’ll admit it, when I first saw the ads for Drop Dead Diva I thought it was silly and doomed. The supernatural, fantastically cheesy premise of a shallow beauty who dies and is sent back in the body of a plus-size lawyer struck me as a mildly inventive take on Freaky Friday that couldn’t possibly survive more than a season or two. I stand very corrected.
Photos From Paula Abdul In Drop Dead Diva Season Premiere
Next month, Lifetime will premiere the second season of their original series Drop Dead Diva. Set to guest star in the season premiere is singer/dancer/choreographer/former-American Idol-judge Paula Abdul and we have some pictures from the episode to share with you!
Lifetime Orders Up More Drop Dead Diva
There’s good news for fans of Lifetime’s summer series Drop Dead Diva. Lifetime has ordered thirteen new episodes of the series, which follows a shallow model-wannabe who dies and gets sent back to earth in the body of a plus-size attorney.
