The Sing-Off Season 4 Finale Crowns A Winner: Watch The Highlights
If I had my way during this season of The Sing-Off, Street Corner Renaissance would have been among the finalists of this season’s a cappella competition. Alas, that wasn’t to be as they were eliminated earlier in the competition, but the final three groups were a solid ensemble of excellent vocalists, so it’s hard to complain about how things went down. Watch the video of the winning moment below to see which group took home the grand prize.
The Sing-Off Highlights: Fun. Medley, What Makes You Beautiful And More
The Sing-Off is back! It only took a few notes from the start of the opening number — a Fun. medley performed by all of the competing a cappella groups — to remind me why I love this series. There’s nothing quite like the sound of great voices coming together for a good song. Unaccompanied by any other instruments, a cappella really has a way of making an overplayed song sound brand new.
The Sing-Off: Watch This Great A Cappella Cover Of One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful'
One of things I love about a cappella music is the way it can make an overplayed pop song seem brand new again. The new preview for the new season of The Sing-Off is a prime example of that, as it shows competing group Street Corner Renaissance singing One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.” To hear these guys sing the pop song, it’s as if it’s been around for decades. The a cappella spin on One Direction’s hit demonstrates the timelessness of the tune.
The Sing-Off Season 4 Groups Announced, Watch The New Promo
In addition to releasing a new promo, NBC has announced the competing groups for the upcoming fourth season of The Sing-Off. I admitted recently that I’ve begun to get more than a bit tired of singing competitions, but I make an exception for The Sing-Off, which is a much shorter format, airs during the holiday season and stands out from the rest not so much in the structure of its competition, but in its focus on a cappella music.
Community Season 5 Premiere Date Set, Ironside And Welcome To The Family Canceled
There's bad news and good news, which do you want first? We'll start with the good news: Community has a return date! The comedy will return for Season 5 on January 2. Better news is that's a Thursday, in other words, not a Friday or any other non-Thursday day. Of course, for Community to have a spot on Thursday's line-up, one comedy would have to step aside, and it looks like it's Welcome to the Family that's getting the axe.
Jewel Signs On To Judge The Sing-Off
We learned back in March that NBC was bringing The Sing-Off back, and a little bit later, that Sara Bareilles would not be returning to judge. This week, NBC has announced that another familiar face (and voice) would be joining the judges panel of the a cappella competition. Coming off the release of her Greatest Hits album, singer/songwriter Jewel is set to join fellow musicians Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman on the returning competition series, which will be hosted by Nick Lachey.
Sara Bareilles Will Not Return To The Sing-Off In Season 4
NBC’s The Sing-Off seemed like an unlikely candidate to get a renewal when it didn’t return to the network’s schedule this fall. Last month, however, NBC announced The Sing-Off would be getting a fourth season, which is great news for fans. It’s looking like the judges panel will look a little different upon the show’s return. Sara Bareilles has officially bowed out of The Sing-Off.
The Sing-Off Will Return For Season 4, Casting Has Begun
NBC's The Sing-Off may have debut a few years ahead of its time. The a cappella singing competition series debuted during the holiday season in 2009 and aired for three seasons, before being cancelled. With the recent success of the comedy Pitch Perfect generating new interest and appreciation in all-voices, no instruments music, not to mention NBC's success with The Voice, perhaps it's time for the series to make a comeback. Word is, it's happening!
Two And A Half Men Season 9 Premiere Scores Huge Ratings
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the return of CBS’ Two and a Half Men drew huge numbers. The ratings are in and as expected, a whole lot of people tuned in to watch Ashton Kutcher make his grand (wet) entrance onto the comedy show.
The Sing-Off Preview: TV Theme Songs Done A Cappella
What sets The Sing-Off apart from other singing competitions? The a cappella music, of course. NBC is teasing us for the third season with these fantastic videos, featuring the contestants as they perform a cappella versions of the theme songs for The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Golden Girls and two TV shows.
NBC Picks Sara Bareilles To Replace Nicole Sherzinger On Sing-Off
Nicole Scherzinger may not be much of a name, but at least she’s a face a good percentage of people recognize. Most known for her 2007 single “Love Song,” Sara Bareilles doesn’t have nearly as much face cred, but NBC doesn’t seem worried it has traded down in fame

NBC's The Sing-Off Gives A Cappella More Mainstream Exposure
I’m not an expert on a cappella music. In fact, if I were being completely honest, I’d say that until recently, I wasn’t even all that much of an a capella enthusiast, however thanks to the musical style popping up on TV more and more, I’m developing a real appreciation for it...

NBC Picks Up The Sing Off For A Second Season
Last December NBC debuted a mini-season of a singing competition featuring a capella singing groups. It seems the network was happy enough with the ratings for the show that they’ve decided to bring it back for another season.
The Sing-Off Reaction: And The Winning Group Is...
Tonight, NBC aired the live finale of their four-episode singing special, The Sing Off. The competition featured various a cappella groups as they battled it out, showing off their vocal skills. It came down to three groups and after America voted, one group took home the final prize.
