TCA Nominations Announced: Game Of Thrones, Justified And FX's Terriers Make The List image
The Television Critics Association (TCA) announced the nominations for the 2011 TCA Awards. Among the series to receive multiple nominations are Game of Thrones, NBCs Parks and Recreation and Community, and FXs Justified.

The 2011 TCA Awards (not to be confused with the other recently announced critics award nominations, Critics Choice Television Awards) is a non-televised event and is set to take place at an invite-only presentation this August.

While Im happy to see HBOs new series Game of Thrones recognized by the TCA critics for its excellent (nearly finished) first season, and especially happy that Peter Dinklage got his own nomination for the show, my favorite nomination among the bunch is Terriers, which made the list for Outstanding New Program. The unfortunately cancelled drama series was one of the best shows to debut last season. The TCA certainly got it right by having it on the list, though it has some steep competition next to GoT, AMCs The Walking Dead and the rest. Another brilliant, cancelled-too-soon series nominated for an award is Freaks and Geeks, which is up for the Heritage Award.
