At the end of a rough week for deaths in Hollywood-- Tony Curtis, Gloria Stuart, Arthur Penn and Sally Menke, rest in peace-- one more major influence in the entertainment world has passed away. Stephen J. Cannell, who created iconic TV shows like The A-Team, The Rockford Files, The Greatest American Hero and 21 Jump Street, died today in Pasadena. He was 69, according to The Associated Press, and died due to complications from melanoma.

The last show he created, Silk Stalkings, ran until 1999, meaning Cannell had a significant impact on three decades of American television.
