Season 4 of HBO’s True Blood featured enough deaths and cast shakeups to ensure the makeup of Season 5 would look remarkably different. Actors from Christopher Meloni to Peter Menseh have already joined the cast for the show's upcoming season, and more recently, we were given word former cast member Alfre Woodard--who played Lafayette’s mother during Seasons 3 --will get another tenure on the show. As it turns out, that’s not all in casting news from the True Blood crew, today.
Napoleon Dynamite’s Tina Majorino is set to join True Blood for several upcoming episodes. The former child actress has spent the last couple of years playing a federal agent who works with Booth on Fox's Bones, so perhaps it is fitting she will be playing a sidekick of a different kind on the HBO drama. TV Line is reporting Majorino will join the cast as a worker within the Vampire Authority in Episode 3, which is scheduled to air on June 24.
While the 27-year-old actress has spent the last year or so on Fox, it’ll be nice to see what Majorino can do on the subscription cable network, again. Majorino had a nice run on the network as Heather Tuttle on HBO’s Big Love from 2006-2011, and I hope she can parlay the recurring role into something more substantial at HBO.
True Blood premieres Sunday, June 10 at 9 p.m. ET.
