The Walking Dead's been grabbing headlines lately for the updates on the status of the AMC zombie drama's showrunner. While it sounds like that's being sorted out in anticipation of the series' planned fourth season, with Scott Gimple reportedly in talks to take over for Glen Mazzara, we still have the rest of Season 3 to look forward to. Among the recently released promotional content for TWD's mid-season return is a new promo for "The Suicide King," an episode description and some photos.
Here are a couple of photos from "The Suicide King," which airs February 10 on AMC and marks the first of the final eight episodes of the third season. ![]() Looks like Rick is happy to see Carol. Or as happy as Rick can look these days, anyway. ![]() From what we've seen of the series' return so far, it's looking like Rick and the Governor are ready to face off again. with the mid-season premiere poster promising an eye for an eye. A previously released clip also shows the Governor dealing with Daryl and Merle at Woodbury (also glimpsed in one of the photos above). Both issues are addressed in the newest promo for "The Suicide King." Will Merle and Daryl have to fight to the death? That's an interesting development. Meanwhile, it looks like Rick's planning an assault on Woodbury, perhaps in a best defense is a strong offense approach. Here's where things get a bit more spoilery, as it relates to the later part of the season. Dread Central shared some episode details, including a brief description for "The Suicide King," which is the series' mid-season premiere. Vague spoilers and speculation ahead! "The Walking Dead" Episode 3.09 - "The Suicide King" (airs 2/10/13) Who aint Judas? Daryl? Not to judge him for being the one to use a word like "aint" (and he's probably not the only one that uses that word, come to think of it) but - even with the possible fight-to-the-death situation with Merle -I can't help but think he's going to have to make a choice between Merle and Rick's group. It looks like we're getting a reprise of "Killer Within" with "Killer Within, Part II." The first episode with that title was the fourth episode of Season 3 and (spoiler alert if you haven't seen it!) featured Lori's childbirth and death, and T-Dog's death after saving Carol's life. I can only imagine what the second part will address, but if it's half as rough as the first part, we might need to prepare for bad things to come. Back to top
