Watch Conan And Letterman Pick On Leno On The Late Show

Last night Conan O’Brien sat down with David Letterman on The Late Show for the first time in thirteen years. You’d think with over a decade between appearance, there would be plenty for the two comedic hosts to discuss; however, with O’Brien’s move to TBS post losing The Tonight Show and Letterman’s rivalry with Jay Leno, it seemed that all avenues were going to lead to Jay jokes, beginning with one right off the rip.

At the beginning of the interview, Conan walked onstage and the two men shared a moment of silence, before getting into what would be a notable bitch session. After the guys sat it out for a while, Letterman finally spoke out, saying, “I think the longer we just sit here, the more uncomfortable it will make Jay.” What followed was a series of pointed jokes aimed directly at NBC's rival talk show host.



To be fair, the interview did get candid, with Conan discussing his move to TBS and how he really is thankful everything worked out. Clearly there are still some bad feelings over the host’s forced removal, as is recounted in a story Conan tells where the Monday after he shot his last Tonight Show episode his crew was forced to regroup at a Marie Callender’s restaurant. Bad pie would leave a sting in my mouth, too.
