Watch Elizabeth Berkley Recreate Jessie Spano's 'I'm So Excited' Meltdown On DWTS

Among the more dramatic moments in television in 1990 was the episode of Saved By The Bell in which overachiever Jessie Spano got hooked on caffeine pills in an effort to keep up with her studies and be a part of a singing group with her best friends Lisa Turtle and Kelly Kapowsi. The pressure and the pills got to be too much for her and she got so excited she melted down. Luckily, Zack was there to catch her when she fell, and none of us ever forgot the phrase "I'm so excited! I'm so excited! I'm so... scared!" Via EW, last night on Dancing with the Stars, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and her dance partner paid homage to that epic breakdown with a jive dance routine set to none other than "I'm So Excited."

Fittingly enough, Mario Lopez, who played Jessie's boyfriend A.C. Slater in Saved by the Bell, was in the audience to watch the dance, which you can watch in the video above. And in Dancing with the Stars, it appears Jessie's traded caffeine pills for "Jive Pills." Extra points for recreating the poster-covered walls, the penguin on the coat rack and the giant bow in Jessie's Berkley's hair.

If you're not flashing back already, watch the original scene from Saved by the Bell below.

Jessie's melodramatic cry for help over an over-the-counter pill addiction was probably never topped on television, though I think Kelly Taylor's diet pill fiasco at her Peach Pit birthday party in Beverly HIlls, 90210 came pretty close.

Saved By the Bell aired from 1989 to 1993, during what was probably the height of the lycra spandex craze. Two years later, Berkley shed the good girl act by taking the lead role in the 1995 film Showgirls. With this Saved By the Bell-inspired act, does this mean a Showgirls-inspired number is next? Maybe not.

EW also shared this adorable screenshot of Berkley giving her once screen-beau a hug.
