Covert Affairs Goes Public With DVD Release
After her first film, Coyote Ugly, was a box office success, Piper Perabo never really got the breakout film role she needed to become a huge Hollywood starlet. She did take some interesting side roles, more noticeably in The Prestige, and less noticeably in Cheaper by the Dozen. I would have mentioned Slap Her…She’s French here, but my reference would likely have fallen on deaf ears.
Apparently Perabo has better listening skills when it comes to picking out television roles, because she’s recently become prominent for her role of Annie Walker in Covert Affairs, a USA program about slick CIA spies and secret missions. The role even garnered her a Golden Globe nomination. She didn't win the coveted statue, but she did win the satisfaction of getting her show picked up for a second season. In fact, Season 2 of Covert Affairs begins filming this month.
If you aren’t on the up-and-up about this particular program, but would like to be, don’t worry. Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced Season 1 of Covert Affairs will be hitting DVD on May 17th. Some early temp art at TVshowsoDVD shows Perabo prominently on the cover, wearing some awfully tight pants. The series will run you $59.98, which is a bit on the pricey side. You might have to chalk it up to owning that cover. I haven’t seen the like since Jennifer Garner left Alias. Perhaps there is a reason for that.
